Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with an organisation in the Information Technology industry to hire a Country Commercial Director, Indonesia. This opportunity is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Position Overview
Lead the establishment and expansion of the organisation's commercial presence in Indonesia, driving market entry, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth.
Play a critical role in building long-term relationships with key stakeholders while positioning the business for sustainable success in a high-growth market.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and grow the company's commercial presence in Indonesia.
- Develop and execute market-entry and business development strategies for the Indonesian market.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with government ministries and agencies, state-owned enterprises (BUMNs), major Indonesian conglomerates, and enterprise customers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across sectors including mining, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, utilities, maritime, telecommunications, and other relevant industries.
- Establish strategic partnerships with local technology companies, system integrators, GIS providers, engineering firms, research institutions, and other relevant organisations.
- Manage complex B2B and B2G opportunities from initial market engagement and opportunity development through commercial negotiation and contract closure.
- Engage senior executives, government stakeholders, and key decision-makers to build long-term commercial relationships.
- Represent the company in customer meetings, government engagements, industry events, and strategic partnership discussions.
- Provide market intelligence on industry developments, customer requirements, competitors, regulations, and emerging opportunities.
- Collaborate with regional and international teams to align Indonesia's commercial activities with the company's broader expansion strategy.
- Support the establishment and ongoing development of the company's local operations in Indonesia.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, government relations, country management, or other relevant commercial leadership roles.
- Proven track record in developing and closing complex B2B and/or B2G opportunities in Indonesia.
- Established senior-level network across government institutions, BUMNs, major Indonesian conglomerates, enterprise customers, and/or relevant industry stakeholders.
- Previous experience within major Indonesian conglomerates, multinational companies, BUMNs, technology providers, engineering companies, or relevant public-sector organisations is highly desirable.
Technical / Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of the Indonesian business, commercial, and regulatory environment.
- Experience within satellite technology, geospatial solutions, GIS, remote sensing, telecommunications, technology, mining, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, maritime, or related industries would be advantageous.
- Experience developing and executing market-entry and business development strategies.
- Ability to establish strategic partnerships with technology companies, system integrators, GIS providers, engineering firms, research institutions, and other relevant organisations.
- Strong commercial negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage complex B2B and B2G opportunities from opportunity development through contract closure.
- Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
