Job summary

Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to identify and implement initiatives that boost efficiency, quality, and cost performance across our operations in Indonesia and China. You will lead cross-functional projects, develop KPI dashboards, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with RCA, and proficiency in Excel; Power BI and ERP familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Master's in Business Management preferred or Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Business Improvement, Process Improvement, or Lean projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving with Root Cause Analysis experience.
  • Advanced Excel with Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex formulas.
  • Experience building dashboards; Power BI is an advantage.
  • Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, PDCA or other CI methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong PM, presentation, and reporting abilities.

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Support productivity, quality, cost reduction and operational excellence initiatives.

Job description

The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost performance across the manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, analyze, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational performance.

Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.

Facilitate problem solving sessions using Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.

Develop, monitor, and report KPIs to measure project performance and business improvements.

Lead or support process improvement projects across cross-functional teams.

Standardize processes, develop SOPs, and promote best practices.

Support productivity, quality, cost reduction, and operational excellence initiatives.

Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.

Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Requirements

Master's Degree (S2) in Business Management is preferred, or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Business Improvement, Process Improvement, or Lean projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in Root Cause Analysis.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and data analysis.

Experience developing dashboards and performance reports; Power BI is an advantage.

Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, PDCA, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong project management, presentation, and reporting abilities.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple improvement initiatives simultaneously.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP or ERP systems is an advantage.
