Job summary

Nestled in Bali, Ulu Artisan seeks motivated Commis Chefs to join our kitchen team. You will work under the Chef de Partie and Chef de Cuisine, supporting daily food preparation and service while learning in a professional kitchen environment.

Based in Bali or willing to relocate, you should have basic English, basic cooking techniques and kitchen hygiene, and be ready to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in a fast-paced setting, with strong teamwork and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Commis or kitchen assistant is preferred.
• Fresh graduates from culinary or hospitality schools are welcome to apply.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen hygiene.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Good teamwork, discipline and a strong willingness to learn.
• Based in Bali or willing to relocate.
• Experience with Indonesian or Asian cuisine.
• Basic English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (washing, peeling, cutting, portioning) according to recipes and standards.
• Assist in cooking and plating dishes during service.
• Set up and maintain your station (mise en place) before, during and after service.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards consistently.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
• Handle, label and store ingredients correctly, and follow FIFO.
• Report stock shortages or quality issues to your Chef de Partie.
• Support the kitchen team and follow instructions from senior chefs.
