Job summary

THE JITTLADA ROYAL THAI CUISINE in Indonesia is seeking a dedicated cashier to manage guest payments at the front desk. You will process payments using POS, handle cash and card transactions, and ensure every bill is accurate.

This role requires strong numerical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to stay calm during busy periods. Experience in hospitality and cash handling is preferred, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience as cashier or front office in hospitality.

• Strong numerical skills and fast, accurate transaction processing.
• Excellent guest service and problem solving.
• Calm under pressure when handling transactions or complaints.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work varied shifts including weekends/holidays.
• Hospitality or cashier operations certification is advantageous.

Process guest payments accurately using point-of-sale systems, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with precision

Maintain cash drawer reconciliation at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring all transactions balance correctly

Provide courteous and efficient service to guests during checkout, addressing any questions or concerns about their bill

Assist guests with currency exchange inquiries and provide information about payment options available

Generate and review itemised invoices, ensuring all charges are accurately reflected

Handle guest complaints regarding billing matters professionally and escate complex issues to management when necessary

Maintain confidentiality of guest financial information and adhere to data protection protocols

Collaborate with front office and restaurant staff to ensure seamless coordination of charges and payments

Process refunds and adjustments following company procedures and obtaining appropriate authorisation

Keep the cash desk area clean, organised, and secure at all times

What we're looking for

Proven experience working as a cashier or in a similar front office role within the hospitality industry

Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling equipment

Strong numerical skills and ability to process transactions quickly and accurately

Exceptional customer service orientation with a commitment to guest satisfaction

Ability to remain calm and professional when handling difficult transactions or guest complaints

Attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and public holidays

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial transactions
