Job summary

Join Us Cafe is seeking a Barista to prepare and serve a variety of beverages, maintain station cleanliness, and ensure quality and speedy service in a busy cafe.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience, knowledge of espresso, milk-based drinks, and manual brewing, and can operate all bar equipment while following standard recipes.

Good communication and customer service skills are essential, with a focus on friendly, honest, and responsible service during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Barista.
• Understanding of coffee basics: espresso, milk-based coffee, and manual brewing.
• Ability to operate and maintain espresso machine, coffee grinder, and bar equipment.
• Understanding of grind size, dosing, tamping, extraction, and steaming milk.
• Ability to make various types of coffee and non-coffee drinks according to standard recipe.
• Understanding of syrup, sauce, powder, milk, and other beverage ingredients.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, quick, disciplined, honest, and responsible.
• Able to work quickly and maintain quality during busy cafe conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages according to SOP and standard recipes.
• Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion, and presentation of every drink.
• Perform preparation of ingredients and ensure the bar station is ready for use.
• Operate and maintain cleanliness of espresso machine, grinder, blender, and bar equipment.
• Check stock of beverage ingredients and report restocking needs.
• Control usage of ingredients to minimise waste.
• Maintain cleanliness, neatness, and hygiene of the bar area.
• Ensure drink orders are made quickly and accurately according to orders.
• Provide friendly and professional service to customers.
• Perform closing procedures and ensure all bar equipment is clean and secure.
