Job summary

Roll Group seeks an experienced Ballast and Mooring Supervisor to oversee marine operations across offshore, shipyard, port, and major infrastructure projects. You will plan, supervise, and optimize ballast, mooring, and load-out activities, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance.

Requires 7–10 years in marine operations and 3–5 years supervisory experience, with a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Marine Engineering or related field.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Offshore Engineering, or related discipline (equivalent experience considered).
• 7–10 years of relevant marine operations experience (ballasting, mooring, barging, offshore construction, heavy lift, port operations).
• 3–5 years of supervisory or lead experience in ballast, mooring, or marine operations.
• Proven track record in critical heavy cargo and offshore module operations.
• Strong leadership, safety awareness, and operational discipline.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control ballasting, de-ballasting, and mooring activities for barges, pontoons, and floating structures.
• Implement approved ballast, mooring, towing, and load-out/load-in procedures.
• Monitor vessel drafts, trim, stability margins, and deck-loading conditions during operations.
• Supervise mobilization, inspection, and operation of ballast pumps, hoses, valves, and related equipment.
• Lead mooring arrangements and monitor line tension, barge position, and environmental conditions.
• Coordinate with Barge Masters, Tug Masters, Marine Superintendents, Heavy Lift Supervisors, Engineers, and client representatives.
• Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and emergency response briefings.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports of ballast and mooring activities.
• Coach and supervise operators and marine crew to ensure competence and safe practices.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Ballast and Mooring Supervisor to join our Operations team and oversee critical marine activities across offshore, shipyard, port, and major infrastructure projects. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, stable, and technically sound execution of heavy cargo transport and marine load-out operations.
