Job summary

Roll Sg Pte Ltd in Batam, Indonesia seeks an experienced Marine/ Naval Engineer to develop, verify and support ballast, stability, and load-out activities for barges and heavy transport operations.

You will review data, prepare ballast plans, perform stability analyses, and coordinate with naval architects, surveyors, and client teams to ensure safe, compliant operations and timely execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in naval architecture, marine engineering, offshore engineering, mechanical or civil/structural engineering.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant marine engineering experience.
• Experience preparing/studying stability calculations and ballast plans.

Responsibilities

• Gather and review barge/vessel data, hydrostatic data, stability booklets, tank plans and certificates.
• Prepare ballast and de-ballast plans for load-out, float-off, skidding, and transfer operations.
• Perform stability calculations for displacement, drafts, trim, heel/list, and GM.
• Evaluate deck loading, longitudinal and transverse strength, and local structural capacity.
• Establish operational limits, ballast sequence, pump capacity, and contingency actions.
• Review technical documents from subcontractors and coordinate with naval architects and client teams.
• Provide field engineering support during mobilization, trials, and critical operations.
