HANGLI SHIPPING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Ship Operator with strong commercial shipping experience to join our regional team in Jakarta.

You will manage loading and discharge instructions, communicate schedules to charterers and traders, and handle Bills of Lading to support invoicing and cash flow. Ideal candidates will have deck/engine sailing experience, preferably in commercial shipping, and are eager to advance their careers in a shore-based capacity.

Qualifications

• Experience sailing onboard vessels (Deck/Engine Department) preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Issuing orders including loading and discharge instructions.
• Inform charterers, traders, port agents, and other relevant parties of latest ship schedules and programmes.
• Issuing and releasing of Bills of Lading where applicable and ensuring timely receipt of Bill of Lading data to facilitate invoicing.
• Monitor collection of freight, settlement of demurrage and other claims, and surrender of Bills of Lading per Charter Party terms.
• Prepare demurrage claims and other owner's claims, deliver to Charterers/Traders/Receivers, and track funds to optimize voyage P&L.
• Liaising with agents, shippers, receivers, consignees for shipping documents, LOIs, cargo readiness, berth availability.
• Facilitate and process port clearance, immigration and regulatory requirements for vessels and crew at ports.
• Maintain proper filling records.
• Coordinate transportation of people and goods to/from vessels, and coordinate technical repairs of vessels.
• Prepare movement and log sheets.

Job description

This regional Ship Management Company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Ship Operator with good experience within Commercial Shipping to join the team. This is an interesting role with strong long-term prospects which will be ideal for someone who can come in and hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities

• Issuing orders including loading and discharge instructions
• Ensuring that Charterers, and Traders, port agents, & all other relevant parties are kept fully informed of latest ship schedules and programmes
• Issuing and releasing of Bills of Lading where applicable and ensuring timely receipt of Bill of Lading data to facilitate commencement of invoicing process
• Monitor collection of freight, settlement of demurrage & other claims, and surrender of Bills of Lading consistent with Charter Party/Fixture Note terms
• Preparation of demurrage claims & other owner's claims, prompt delivery of claims to Charterers/Traders/Receivers/Consignees, & tracking the receipt of funds, in order to assist in the optimization of the P&L of the voyages
• Liasing with agents, shippers, receivers, consignees for the smooth completion & preparation of all required shipping documentations, LOIs etc, as well as readiness of cargo for loading at loadports, availability of cargo gear & equipments, berth availability for loading/discharge at loading & discharge ports
• Facilitate & process port clearance, immigration & other regulatory requirements for vessels & crew at all ports
• Manage and maintain proper filling records
• Coordinate the transportation of people and goods to and from vessels, & technical repairs of vessels
• Prepare movement and log sheets

About you

Previous Experience sailing onboard vessels (Deck/Engine Department) preferable but not essential. This would suit someone looking to move to a shore-based environment
