Grab in Jakarta is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Go) to join the Fulfilment Platform Engineering Team. You will work on high-throughput, real-time distributed services and help revamp operational fundamentals for automation and efficiency.

This onsite role in South Jakarta requires 3+ years in distributed systems, Go expertise, and a drive to mentor peers, participate in design reviews, and help hire top engineering talent.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/SE/IT or related field.
• 3+ years in distributed systems software engineering.
• Experience with Golang and its standard library.
• Strong operations mindset: performance, health, and capacity planning.
• CS fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with large-scale web services and networking.
• Proficient in multiple languages and willing to work in Go.

Responsibilities

• Design and write Go services to improve availability, latency, and efficiency.
• Collaborate on architectures for scale and performance.
• Participate in code and design reviews to uphold standards.
• Assist in capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Define and prototype feature specifications with product/experience teams.
• Work with infra to scale back-end services and investigate root causes.
• Develop, analyze, and maintain large-scale systems.
• Debug production incidents during on-call shifts.
• Participate in interview loops to hire top engineering talent.
• Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing to peers.
