Job summary

Grab is hiring for an experienced software engineer to build and operate scalable Go backend services powering the Grab app. You will lead AI-enabled engineering workflows, plan, write, test, and debug code while ensuring security and maintainability.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work on-site in Jakarta. Join a team focused on delivering high-availability systems, AI-driven improvements, and strong cross-functional collaboration, with opportunities to shape engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Go or willingness to write Go.
• Ability to audit AI-generated code for security, correctness, and maintainability.
• Experience leading AI-driven technical initiatives and raising engineering standards.
• Proficiency in modern web frameworks (React) using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with distributed systems and large-scale web services.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows (Copilot, LLM tools).

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and optimize scalable, high-availability fullstack services and Go backend systems.
• Leverage and validate AI-assisted tools to build secure, high-quality code and lead plans that boost team efficiency.
• Design scalable architectures, manage system performance and capacity, and resolve complex distributed system issues.
• Take end-to-end ownership of product outcomes, drive cross-functional alignment, and manage production incidents during on-call rotations.
• Elevate engineering standards through design/code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
