Job summary

Grab is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Backend - Consumer Experience in Jakarta to lead backend services and design scalable systems for the CX platform. You will own critical components, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and data teams to deliver high-performance features.

Based onsite in Jakarta, you will influence architecture, drive best practices, and ensure reliable, scalable delivery of services that power Grab's consumer experiences across regions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• 5+ years in software engineering in a distributed systems environment.
• Fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Understanding of system performance and scaling.
• Proficiency in Go and willingness to work with it.
• Passionate about building products that accelerate business growth.

Responsibilities

• Own a wide range of lifecycle responsibilities from backend APIs to CI/CD.
• Design and write Go services to improve availability, latency, and scalability.
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high standards.
• Contribute to capacity planning, performance analysis, and tuning.
• Collaborate with product to define feature specifications.
• Partner with teams to explore scalable designs and architectures.
• Support infra in scaling back-end services and root-cause analysis.
• Design, build, and maintain large-scale systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation for operational excellence.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers.
