Job summary

Gentem Lifelong Learning is seeking an Accounting Specialist to strengthen our accounting foundation and ensure alignment between financial operations and the accounting system.

The role focuses on end-to-end record-to-report processes, month-end closing, tax compliance, and close collaboration with internal departments to maintain accuracy and clarity of financial data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with tax compliance and financial reporting is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office is essential.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (Odoo preferred) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end record-to-report processes including month-end closing and journal entries.
• Monitor fixed assets, prepayments, deposits, and balance sheet accounts.
• Perform bank reconciliation and support AR and AP processes.
• Ensure GL alignment with tax filings in SPT, including withholding tax.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data and smooth operations.

Job description

We're looking for an Accounting Specialist to strengthen our accounting foundation and ensure seamless alignment between our financial operations and accounting system.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end record-to-report processes, including month-end closing, journal entries, and financial data reporting for management
• Monitor and ensure proper accounting treatment for fixed assets, prepayments, advance payments, deposits, and other balance sheet accounts
• Perform bank reconciliation, support AR (payment gateway & MDR reconciliation) and AP processes, and support month-end closing
• Ensure GL recording and accounting treatment are properly aligned with tax filings reported in SPT, particularly for withholding tax
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations and clear communication of financial data

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting field from a reputable university
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role
• Experience in a public accounting firm, accounting services, or similar industry (retail, services, education) is a plus
• Strong accounting & reporting skills with high attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
• Basic knowledge of taxation, especially withholding tax (PPh 23, PPh 4(2), PPh 21)
• Experience with ERP or accounting software is preferred (Odoo experience is a plus)
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and organizational skills
