Job summary

PT. Pratama Abadi Industri invites applications for a mold design specialist focused on 2nd-process tooling for athletic footwear. You will develop mold geometries, prepare precise 2D drawings, and review trials to drive continuous improvement.

Collaboration with production and engineering teams is key to maintaining quality and process compliance. The role is based in Tangerang, Indonesia, with the possibility to support multiple factories.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in footwear manufacturing, especially 2nd-process mold or tooling design is preferred.
• Proficient in CAD for 3D modeling and 2D drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mold surfaces and geometries using CAD for 2nd-process footwear molding.
• Design mold structures and define molding-area contours per product specs and upper geometry.
• Prepare complete 2D drawings with dimensions, tolerances, materials, and finishes.
• Review mold designs, evaluate trials, and implement revisions from production feedback.
• Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot mold issues and ensure quality.

Job description

• Develop, and optimize mold surfaces and geometries using CAD software for second-process footwear manufacturing.
• Design mold structures and define molding-area contours based on product specifications, upper geometry, and manufacturing requirements.
• Prepare complete 2D technical engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and surface finish requirements.
• Review mold designs, evaluate mold trials and molding results, and implement design revisions based on production feedback and trial evaluations.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot mold-related issues, improve mold performance, and ensure product quality and manufacturing process compliance.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in footwear manufacturing, particularly second-process mold or tooling design, is preferred.
• Proficient in CAD software for 3D modeling and 2D technical drawing.
• Knowledge of mold construction, dimensional tolerances, material specifications, and surface finish requirements.
• Understanding of footwear upper geometry and 2nd process molding applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Able to work effectively with production teams and support mold trials and design improvements.
• Have awareness of Health, Safety and Work Environment culture as a top priority.
• Willing to be placed at Serpong, South Tangerang.

Position Scope: Focuses on 2nd process mold and tooling design, rather than main pattern engineering or initial footwear upper pattern development.
