Job summary

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent.
• Holder of a valid coaching certificate issued by the relevant governing body.
• A minimum of five years' professional coaching experience and a proven record of achievement in coaching windsurfing athletes at national level or its equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, design, and implement training programmes for elite athletes in Hong Kong.
• Fully utilise and integrate scientific, medical, and other athlete support services into the elite training programme to enhance elite training outcomes.
• Monitor athlete performance through comprehensive, multi-method assessment and regular evaluation.
• Provide timely and critically analysed progress reports on athletes' training progress.
• Be responsible for administrative matters related to local and overseas squad training and competitions.
• Supervise Assistant Coaches and part-time coaches.
• Assist the HKSI and Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong, China with coach education programmes.
• Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head Windsurfing Coach, the Windsurfing Coach is responsible for coordinating, designing, and implementing training programmes for elite athletes in Hong Kong. The role integrates scientific, medical, and other athlete support services to enhance training outcomes and includes supervisory, administrative, and coach education duties. Appointment is on a fixed-term contract.

• Fully utilise and integrate scientific, medical, and other athlete support services into the elite training programme to enhance elite training outcomes.
• Monitor athlete performance through comprehensive, multi-method assessment and regular evaluation.
