Job summary

Hyphen Connect is seeking a senior UI/UX designer to take ownership of our AI chat product's user experience and visual interface. You will craft polished UI in Figma, build a scalable design system, and work directly with engineers and the Founder to ship delightful interfaces.

You will also prototype ideas in code or with AI tools, run user tests, and iterate on activation and retention. 5+ years of hands-on design experience in consumer or SaaS is required, with Cantonese or Mandarin language

Our client is a next-generation AI Creative Studio headquartered in Hong Kong, focused on democratizing creative content production through generative AI.

The company combines AI technology, creative storytelling and digital production, with a focus on AI-powered content creation, animation, visual effects and digital human/avatar solutions.

About 70% of the Job is Leading UI/UX

• Owns the user experience and interface of our AI chat product, from research and flows through to the final pixels.
• Designs polished, modern UI in Figma and builds a design system that the engineers can ship from quickly.
• Runs user testing and iterates on real usage data to improve activation & retention.
• Sets the design bar for new AI products, starting with an AI KOL matchmaking platform that matches brands with AI influencers.
• Senior and hands-on (5+ years): does the design work personally and can lead a junior designer or freelancers later.

About 30% is Hacking and Product

• Prototypes ideas themselves in code (React, Next.js or HTML/CSS) or with AI coding and no-code tools, so demos are live within days rather than stuck in slides.
• Hands-on with generative AI (LLMs, image and video models) and understands what those models can and can't do when designing around them.
• Co-drives new product ideas with the Founder: shapes an MVP (Minimum Viable Product), decides what to cut, and tests it with users.

Must-Haves

• A strong portfolio of shipped consumer or SaaS products, with clear case studies showing the thinking behind the visuals.
• Evidence of building things personally, such as GitHub, live prototypes, side projects or hackathons.
• Clear communicator who is comfortable working directly with the Founder, engineers and creative team.
• Able to speak and understand Cantonese or Mandarin.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with chat, creator, influencer or marketplace products.
• Motion design or AI video skills.
