Job summary

ConnectedGroup Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager - Trade Operations to lead end-to-end commercial operations in a dynamic commodities environment. You will manage trade finance mechanics, documentation, and shipment tracking while coordinating with banks, clients and logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate trade settlements.

The role requires 5-7 years in trade operations or commodity trading, with exposure to bulk commodities like iron ore or coal, strong knowledge of Incoterms

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of trade operations, trade finance, or commodity trading experience.
• Direct exposure to bulk commodities (Iron Ore, Coal) is highly desirable.
• Deep knowledge of Incoterms, UCP 600, documentary credit procedures, and global trade documentation.
• Operational mastery in shipment logistics, contract administration, and settlement workflows in physical commodities.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-moving trading environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across regions and functions.

Responsibilities

• Trade Finance & Documentation: Oversee L/C processing, documentary collections, bill presentations, and bank tasks.
• Contract Review: Evaluate trade agreements and payment structures for feasibility and contractual compliance.
• Logistics & Contract Execution: Manage contract lifecycle from drafting to execution and payment tracking.
• Shipment & Cargo Tracking: Monitor vessel movements, shipping schedules, sampling milestones, and payment progress.
• Stakeholder Management & Reporting: Liaise with banks, clients, suppliers, surveyors, and internal teams; provide updates on cargo status and payments; generate reports on demurrage, despatch, and key metrics.
