Job summary

Ambition is seeking a Web Application Support specialist in Hong Kong to provide tier-2/3 support for web applications, diagnose performance issues, and assist with cloud migration efforts.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience with REST APIs, and fluency in Cantonese to collaborate with local teams. You'll work across development and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and well-documented runbooks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in technical support, application maintenance, or systems administration with focus on web apps.
• Familiarity with cloud concepts (IaaS/PaaS) and migration workflows; hands-on or conceptual with major clouds.
• Strong understanding of web architecture, HTTP, web servers, and REST APIs.
• Proficient in reading logs, tracing API requests, and debugging across frontend and backend.

• Web Application Support: provide tier-2/3 support for web apps; diagnose performance issues and API errors.

Job description

• Web Application Support: Provide tier-2/3 technical support for web applications, diagnosing performance bottlenecks, application errors, database issues, and API integration failures.
• Incident & Defect Management: Identify, reproduce, and resolve technical defects across development, testing, and production environments; coordinate with engineering teams for hotfixes.
• Cloud Migration Assistance: Assist development and infrastructure teams during application migration initiatives by understanding cloud deployment workflows, environment configurations, and rollback procedures.
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor system health, application logs, and service performance to ensure high availability and stability post-migration.
• Documentation & Handover: Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides, deployment runbooks, and incident post-mortems.

Key Requirements

• Technical Support Experience: 3+ years of experience in technical support, application maintenance, or systems administration with a strong focus on web applications.
• Cloud Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of public cloud concepts (IaaS/PaaS) and cloud migration workflows. Hands-on or conceptual experience with Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Core Web Technologies: Familiarity with web architecture, HTTP protocols, web servers, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and REST APIs.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Skilled in reading application logs, analyzing network/API requests, and tracing issues across front-end and back-end systems.
• Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical issues and partner effectively with development and infrastructure teams. Cantonese is a must.
