Job summary

Centre for Oncology and Immunology in Hong Kong invites applications for Technical Officer / Senior Research Assistant (Ref.: 104132) on a fixed-term basis with renewal possible. The role ensures a compliant laboratory, supports procurement, inventory, admin tasks, manages instruments and provides training to new staff and students in a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a master’s degree or above with at least 5 years of relevant experience; PhD may be considered for Senior TO.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above in Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or related disciplines.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in MS, proteomics, LC, organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry preferred.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

Applications are invited for appointment as Technical Officer / Senior Research Assistant (Ref.: 104132), to commence as soon as possible, on a fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.

The appointees are expected to ensure the laboratory remains organized and compliant with safety standards. Their duties encompass supporting the team with procurement, managing inventory, handling administrative tasks, managing laboratory instruments, and delivering training to new staff and students.

Qualifications And Skills

Applicants should possess a master’s degree or above, preferably in Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or related disciplines, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Prior work experience in mass spectrometry, proteomics, liquid chromatography, organic synthesis, or medicinal chemistry is preferred. Experience working in a tertiary institution will be considered an asset. A PhD degree holder with relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Officer.

The applicants should have a good command of written and spoken English and strong communication skills, be team players, self-motivated, organized, detail-minded, hardworking, willing to learn new techniques, and able to work well in a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, they should possess good project management skills to effectively plan, execute, and oversee research projects and activities.

The appointee shall work in Hong Kong Science and Technology Park.
