Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre Limited (ABIC), a HKU-coordinated initiative at HKSTP, invites applications for Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer / Senior Laboratory Assistant on a fixed-term basis. The appointee will support daily laboratory operations and on-job training.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, be proficient in Chinese and English, and demonstrate coordination, problem-solving and teamwork.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with routine laboratory operations to maintain a safe, clean and well-organized working environment.
• Manage procurement, inventory and maintenance of laboratory consumables, reagents and equipment.
• Provide technical support and user training for laboratory equipment and research facilities.
• Perform routine inspection, calibration, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain laboratory records, equipment logs, SOPs and other documentation.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety regulations, institutional policies and quality assurance requirements.
• Coordinate equipment servicing, repairs, delivery, installation and warranty follow-up with vendors and manufacturers.
• Monitor laboratory inventory levels and maintain an efficient stock management system.
• Support laboratory accreditation, audits, inspections and safety assessments where applicable.
• Assist in managing laboratory facilities, including access control, asset management and space utilization.
• Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding laboratory operations and administrative matters.
• Demonstrate strong computer skills and provide administrative support for research projects as required.

Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre Limited (“ABIC”) is collaborative effort coordinated by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) undertaking R&D projects at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP). The aim of the Centre is to develop new and disruptive biomedical instrumentation that will meet the growing needs in medicine and contribute sustainably to human health. Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer / Senior Laboratory Assistant (Ref.: H01/2026/111), on a fixed-term basis.

They should have a good command of written and spoken Chinese and English; good coordination, be hard working, proactive, possess problem-solving skills, and be highly motivated with a strong sense of responsibility. Additionally, they should have the ability to work independently and in a team.

The appointee be responsible for supporting daily operations of laboratories, with on-job training to be provided, duties including:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Life Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Assist with routine laboratory operations to maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized working environment.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and maybe a written test as well.
