Job summary

HKUST’s Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering seeks a Technical Officer to manage essential lab equipment for research and teaching. You will train students and staff on equipment operation, enforce safety protocols, and oversee procurement of supplies and new instruments.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and hands-on knowledge of laboratory equipment, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and collaborate with faculty and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in chemical engineering, chemistry, bioengineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment for research and teaching.
• Provide training for students and staff on equipment usage.
• Enforce laboratory safety protocols and compliance with guidelines.
• Procure laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Support laboratory courses and related initiatives.
