Michael Page International (HK) Ltd is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (Technical) to bridge business and technical teams in our insurance-focused technology environment in Hong Kong. You will gather requirements, drive process improvements, and support data-driven decision making throughout project lifecycles.

The role requires strong SQL and Python skills, experience with Agile, and a proven track record in banking/insurance or large enterprise settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 5+ years as a Business Analyst, System Analyst, or similar role.
• Experience on technology and digital transformation projects.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environments.
• Strong SQL and data querying/troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation/automation.
• Understand SDLC, APIs, databases, and system architecture.
• Experience writing functional specifications and technical docs.
• Knowledge of business process modeling and data analysis techniques.
• Experience in banking, insurance, or large enterprises; CBAP/PMP/Agile/Scrum helpful.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze requirements with business users, PMs, developers, and tech teams.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specs.
• Lead requirements workshops and stakeholder discussions.
• Perform gap analysis and recommend process improvements.
• Support system implementation, testing, UAT, and deployment.
• Use SQL to extract, analyze, and validate data.
• Use Python for data analysis, automation, and reporting where applicable.
• Collaborate with developers and solution architects to deliver requirements.
• Prepare project documentation, workflows, user stories, and process maps.
• Monitor project progress and manage stakeholder expectations.
