Job summary

The Dynasty Club Limited in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, is seeking an experienced Tea Sommelier to lead the service team, elevate guest experiences, and drive tea program development.

You will train staff, conduct cupping, work with the kitchen on menus, and organize special events, while ensuring precise tea preparation and presentation.

Fluency in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin is preferred; a certified tea sommelier is advantageous. This is a full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive tea sommelier experience in hotel or club operations.
• Experience in team leadership and training, including curriculum development and staff mentorship.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tea varieties including Chinese teas (green, black, oolong, white, dark) and Japanese teas (Matcha, Sencha, Gyokuro).
• Advanced palate development with cupping techniques to evaluate aroma, mouthfeel, flavor, and quality.
• Attention to detail in tea preparation, presentation, and service.
• Proficiency in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the service team to maintain high standards of customer service.
• Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
• Monitor staff performance and give constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and update the menu.
• Introduce Teahouse experiences and foster relationships with members.
• Assist in planning and executing special events and functions.
• Maintain and update tea leaves, wine and all other beverage and goodie lists.
