Job summary

Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong is seeking a Tea Master to deliver exceptional dining experiences through timely, courteous service and expert tea preparation. You will craft personalized tea pairings, run monthly masterclasses, and collaborate with the F&B team to design seasonal offerings while maintaining the hotel’s standards.

The role emphasizes passion for tea culture, strong customer focus, and proficiency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tea preparation and pairing in the hotel or F&B service industry.
• Possession of a Tea Artist Certificate or other relevant qualifications would be an advantage.
• Strong passion for tea culture and creativity in beverage design.
• Customer-oriented and outgoing team player with excellent communication and guest engagement skills.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; Mandarin speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the overall tea concept of the hotel in line with brand requirements.
• Create personalized tea experiences by recommending pairings with guests' selected dishes and gathering feedback to exceed expectations.
• Prepare and brew a variety of teas using appropriate techniques, ensuring consistency in quality, flavor and presentation.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage team to design seasonal teas and pairings.
• Promote tea culture and elevate the overall dining experience for guests.
• Organize monthly team masterclasses.
