Job summary

Classy Wheeler Limited, a leading Hong Kong-based banking and financial services firm, seeks a System Support Specialist to manage Linux/Unix environments, including RHEL, AIX, and Oracle Solaris. The role covers provisioning, patching, performance tuning, and capacity planning within a security-conscious setup.

You will implement automation, collaborate across application and infrastructure teams, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure administration.
• Solid experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Strong knowledge of Unix platforms including IBM AIX and Oracle Solaris.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and/or Red Hat Virtualization.
• Basic understanding of SAN storage and enterprise backup technologies.
• Experience with shell scripting, Bash, Python, or automation tools such as Ansible is highly preferred.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform is an advantage.
• Knowledge of container technologies such as OpenShift and Kubernetes is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Review end-of-support hardware and software and execute upgrade, replacement, and migration initiatives.

• Develop scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies, regulatory requirements, and infrastructure standards.
• Participate in on-call support and scheduled maintenance during non-office hours and weekends.
• Support virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud-related infrastructure operations.
