Job summary

A major logistics service provider in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced UNIX/Linux System Administrator. Job Description

• • Provide hand-on UNIX/Linux system administration
• • Install, configure and maintain security tools such as firewall, VPN gateway and sandboxing
• • Monitor and manage system resources, system logs, security patching and backup/recovery
• • Monitor system performance and ensure high level of performance and availability
• • Analyze and resolve problems associated with the hardware and software
• • Ability to utilize analysis tools to resolve complex system performance problems
• • Perform IT security review to ensure compliance with security standards
• • Review, recommend and develop procedures to enhance operational efficiency
• • Plan and implement IT projects related to IT infrastructure and security
• • Provide 7x24 standby technical support

Job Requirements

• • Degree or above in Computer Science or equivalent
• • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• • Must have hand-on experience in UNIX and Linux system administration
• • Good knowledge of firewall and security products
• • Good Knowledge of shell script
• • Experience in cybersecurity hardening practices for major operating system platforms
• • Experience in Oracle databases and SAN storages is a plus
• • Solid experience in IT projects and daily IT operation support
• • Self-initiative, independent with good interpersonal and communication skills
• • Strong analytical, troubleshooting skills and critical thinking capabilities
• • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
• • Able to work independently and under pressure, and willing to work during non-office hours when required
