Job summary

EIRE Systems (Hong Kong) Limited seeks an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to plan, implement, configure, and administer UNIX/Linux servers, SAN storage, and backup systems in Hong Kong.

You will support data center operations, drive automation for patching and monitoring, manage vendor engagements, and provide Level 3 escalation support for complex infrastructure issues, including DR tests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience supporting UNIX/Linux environments.
• Experience with backup tools such as CommVault or NetBackup.
• Hands-on data center operations experience including server hardware and cabling.
• Solid experience administering SAN storage and SAN switches.
• Knowledge of network protocols, Ethernet, VLAN, routing, and IP.
• Experience with Ansible and shell scripting is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage vendors for project implementation and BAU support.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to support production issues outside office hours.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, configure, and administer UNIX/Linux servers, storage, backup systems, SAN storage, and SAN switches.
• Manage UNIX/Linux server administration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
• Support data center operations, including hardware installation/removal, cabling, and vendor-coordinated hardware replacement.
• Evaluate and implement automation for patching, capacity monitoring, configuration management, and backup/recovery.
• Support infrastructure upgrades and migration projects, including OS upgrades and SAN storage EOL migrations.
• Assist in standardizing and refreshing server, storage, hardware, and software infrastructure.
• Enforce change, incident, and problem management procedures.
• Support disaster recovery strategy and backup policy execution.
• Provide Level 3 support for escalated infrastructure issues.
• Act as the infrastructure focal point for business application system implementations.
