System Administrator (Infrastructure & Networking)
Responsible for designing, deploying, operating, and optimizing the company’s on-premises and cloud infrastructure, covering servers, storage, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery. Also accountable for day-to-day management and security policy enforcement of core networking (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPN, etc.) to ensure high availability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Systems & Infrastructure Management
- Manage Windows Server / Linux servers, virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper‑V / KVM), and SAN/NAS storage systems, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management (patching, upgrades, EOL replacements).
- Design and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies; conduct regular tests and maintain documentation.
- Support hybrid cloud environments (e.g., Azure / AWS / Alibaba Cloud) for VM, networking, and storage configuration and operations.
Network & Security Operations
- Configure and maintain LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing and switching, wireless (Wi‑Fi), DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and site-to-site / remote‑access VPN.
- Manage firewalls, load balancers, and related security policies (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5), coordinating vulnerability scanning, compliance checks, and remediation.
- Implement identity and access management (AD DS, SSO, MFA), endpoint protection, log monitoring, and incident response to meet company security baselines and audit requirements.
Operations & Support
- Monitor system and network performance and availability; proactively troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Provide tier‑2 / tier‑3 technical support, handle escalated cases, and collaborate with external vendors to resolve problems.
- Manage backend configuration and integration for M365, email, VoIP, and collaboration tools as required.
Projects & Documentation
- Participate in infrastructure upgrade, migration, and automation projects (e.g., OS upgrades, SAN replacement, cloud migration).
- Write and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, asset inventories, and change management records.
- Collaborate with application development, DevOps, and security teams to support system integration and environment delivery.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or above in Computer Science, Information Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of IT infrastructure operations experience, with hands‑on experience managing both servers and networks.
Technical Skills (adjust as needed)
- Servers / Virtualization: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), VMware vSphere / Hyper‑V / KVM.
- Storage & Backup: SAN/NAS, backup software (e.g., Veeam).
- Networking: Cisco/Huawei/Aruba switches and routers, Wi‑Fi controllers, firewalls (Fortinet/Palo Alto), VPN, DNS/DHCP.
- Cloud: Basic services on Azure / AWS / Alibaba Cloud (VM, VNet/VPC, Storage, Backup).
- Automation & Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, or Python for task automation.
- Security & Compliance: AD, GPO, MFA, endpoint protection, logging and monitoring tools; familiarity with ISO 27001 or similar frameworks is a plus.
Soft Skills & Others
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to work under pressure and handle incidents.
- Good communication and documentation skills; able to collaborate effectively with business units and vendors.
- Fluent in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus.
