Job summary

Chinasoft International Technology Service (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a System Administrator in Hong Kong to ensure high availability, security, and stability of HCL Domino/Notes environments. You will manage mail routing, security, and system upgrades or migrations in a hands-on role.

The position requires 3+ years of Domino/Notes admin experience, Diploma/Degree in IT, and strong English and Cantonese communication. On-site work with potential for DR and backup responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in HCL Domino / IBM Lotus Notes server administration.
• Proficient in SMTP mail routing and Domino Directory/ACL management.

Overview

Chinasoft International is seeking a highly capable System Administrator to join a leading multinational enterprise in Hong Kong. This role is dedicated to ensuring the high availability, security, and stability of the HCL Domino Server and Notes Client environment. Designed for a hands-on IT professional, you will manage complex mail routing, oversee security protocols, and drive critical system upgrades or migration initiatives.

Mandatory Certifications

Candidates MUST possess at least one of the following certifications:

HCL Administration: HCLSoftware Certified Associate Administrator - Notes/Domino (v12 / v14) OR HCLSoftware Certified Professional Administrator - Notes/Domino (v12 / v14).

IBM Administration: IBM Certified System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5 / 9 OR IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5 / 9.

Development: HCLSoftware Certified Professional Developer - Notes/Domino OR IBM Certified Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5 / 9.

Key Responsibilities

System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Proactively maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot the HCL Domino Server and Notes Client infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and stability.

Security & User Management: Administer user accounts, Domino Directory, Access Control Lists (ACL), Execution Control Lists (ECL), and ID files.

Mail & Routing Operations: Manage SMTP mail routing, configure spam filters, support HCL Traveler (mobile synchronization), and maintain integrated web services.

Backup & Disaster Recovery: Execute robust backup strategies, lead server disaster recovery (DR) drills, and perform routine database maintenance (DAOS, Compact, Fixup, Updall).

Technical Support & Documentation: Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support to end-users and author clear, structured Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Migration & Upgrades: Drive system upgrades to the latest HCL Domino versions or assist in critical data and mail migrations to Microsoft 365 / Exchange.

Requirements

Academic Background: Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Core Experience: Minimum 3+ years of solid, hands-on experience in HCL Domino / IBM Lotus Notes server administration.

Technical Proficiency:

Deep understanding of Domino infrastructure, mail routing architecture, and SSL/TLS certificate management.

Strong familiarity with enterprise identity integration (Active Directory, LDAP, Single Sign-On / SSO, SAML).

Soft Skills: Highly analytical with sharp troubleshooting skills. Capable of working independently while maintaining excellent communication with cross-functional teams.

Language: Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese.

Nice to Have

Scripting: Scripting and automation knowledge using LotusScript, Formula Language, or PowerShell.
