Objective
The Strategy Planning & Execution Analyst supports the Senior Manager, Strategy Development and Enablement in shaping strategic direction and enabling execution across the company. The role is responsible for generating insights from internal and external research, supporting cross-functional alignment and execution tracking, and applying AI-enabled tools to improve the speed and quality of strategic analysis. The role requires strong analytical rigor, structured thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Workstream Design and Cross-Functional Alignment (30%)
- Support the development and delivery of strategic workstreams that support growth, commercial priorities, and long-term capability building.
- Apply structured strategic frameworks, business cases, scenario assessments, and implementation roadmaps to evaluate opportunities and support decision-making.
- Support cross-functional alignment, execution visibility, and performance tracking to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes.
- Maintain workstream visibility and support structured progress updates, leadership reviews, and decision checkpoints.
Insight Generation and Decision Support (30%)
- Synthesize internal performance information and market intelligence into strategic implications, decision options, and actionable recommendations.
- Evaluate assumptions, trade-offs, risks, and business implications to support evidence-based decision-making and prioritization.
- Support the development of strategic templates, models, evaluation methodologies, and frameworks that improve leadership discussion and decision-making quality.
Strategic Partnership and Opportunity Evaluation (10%)
- Support the evaluation of potential partners, platforms, technologies, and commercial opportunities.
- Assess strategic fit, value-creation potential, commercial implications, operational feasibility, dependencies, and risks.
- Prepare internal recommendations and materials to support leadership reviews and partner discussions.
Portfolio Prioritization and Performance Tracking (10%)
- Support the prioritization of strategic initiatives using consistent evaluation criteria and methodologies.
- Maintain visibility and alignment of major strategic initiatives, milestones, decisions, dependencies, and follow-up actions.
- Support the definition and tracking of strategic KPIs, success measures for key workstreams and structured handover of stabilized workstreams and processes to accountable functional owners.
- Identify performance gaps and early indicators that may require management attention or course correction.
AI-Enabled Strategic Working (20%)
- Apply AI-enabled tools and other relevant technologies to improve the quality, speed, and scalability of strategic analysis and decision support.
- Frame effective business questions and provide appropriate context when using AI-assisted analysis.
- Review and validate AI-generated outputs against reliable sources, business data, and commercial judgment.
- Develop reusable prompts, templates, methodologies, and knowledge assets that improve the efficiency and consistency of strategic work.
- Collaborate with relevant Technology, Data, and Transformation teams when implementation or automation support is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Data Analytics, or another relevant discipline.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in strategy, management consulting, business planning, commercial analysis, corporate development, project management, or another analytical and cross-functional role.
- Structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to define business questions, assess evidence, evaluate options and trade-offs, and develop clear recommendations.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with sound commercial and financial judgment to synthesize strategic implications, decision options, and actionable recommendations.
- Strong execution discipline with excellent skills in project management and stakeholder management to lead and engage without formal authority.
- High intellectual curiosity especially in using AI and digital tools, attention to detail, learning agility, and comfort working on unfamiliar or ambiguous business problems.
- A long-term and scalable mindset, with the ability to turn project experience into reusable frameworks, templates, methodologies, and organizational knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise leadership materials and communicate effectively across functions.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.
