Responsibilities

  • Provide solution insight and support to a full-cycle Workday HCM implementation (planning, design, configuration, testing, deployment, stabilization)
  • Oversee workshops and requirements sessions with HR and business stakeholders and translate requirements into system design and configuration
  • Understand HR processes and recommend best-practice Workday solutions
  • Identify functional gaps and define workarounds, process changes, or alternatives
  • Oversee SI configuration and ensure optimisation across Core HCM, Recruitment, Payroll, Learning Management
  • Define and govern testing strategy with IT, HR, and vendor (unit, SIT, UAT, defect resolution)
  • Identify training needs and develop training materials, user documentation, and knowledge transfer
  • Lead change management activities and stakeholder engagement for user adoption
  • Resolve functional and configuration issues during implementation and post-go-live
  • Collaborate with internal IT and external vendors on integrations, data interfaces, reporting, and deliverables
  • Govern vendor deliverables and maintain project documentation (functional specs, config workbooks, test scripts)
  • Stay current with Workday releases and best practices to improve system capabilities and user experience

Solution Architect (Workday HCM) (1-Year Project Based Consultancy Contract)

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with a strong track record in Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) implementations.

The incumbent will be broadly responsible for confirming business requirements, understanding and overseeing the external system implementation (SI) vendor and the related configuration effort, planning and overseeing user testing and integration testing, overseeing and directing data migration, and providing post-go-live support.

Working closely with the HR team, business stakeholders, IT team, and external vendors, the Solution Architect will ensure that the Workday solution is aligned with business objectives, adopted effectively across the organization, and delivered in accordance with project timelines and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Provide solution insight and support to a full-cycle Workday HCM implementation, including planning, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization

Oversee and participate in workshops and requirements-gathering sessions with HR and business stakeholders, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, documented, and effectively translated into system design and configuration by the implementation vendor

Understand current HR processes and recommend best-practice Workday solutions

Identify functional gaps between business requirements and standard Workday capabilities, and define effective workarounds, process changes, or alternative solutions to address business needs

Oversee the configuration by the external SI and ensure configuration is optimised across Workday HCM modules, including:

Core HCM

Recruitment

Payroll

Learning Management

Oversee the design, configuration, and validation of Workday business processes, security frameworks, organizational structures, supervisory organizations, and reporting solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and Workday best practices

Define and govern the overall testing strategy, working closely with the implementation vendor, HR, and IT teams to plan, coordinate, and oversee unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect resolution activities

Identify training requirements and provide guidance on the development of training materials, user documentation, and knowledge transfer activities; deliver end-user training and stakeholder workshops where required

Support organizational change management initiatives by providing subject matter expertise, assisting with stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and user adoption activities

Lead the investigation and resolution of functional and configuration issues throughout implementation and post-go-live phases, ensuring timely issue resolution and system stability

Collaborate closely with the internal IT team and external vendors to oversee system integrations, data interfaces, reporting solutions, and related technical deliverables

Govern the implementation vendor's deliverables and ensure the timely production, maintenance, and quality of project documentation, including functional specifications, configuration workbooks, test scripts, training materials, and support documentation

Stay current with Workday releases, product enhancements, emerging technologies, and HR industry best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to improve system capabilities, user experience, and business processes

Experience & Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related discipline

3+ years of Workday implementation experience, with a focus on Workday HCM/HR

Proven track record in delivering at least 2–3 full-cycle Workday HCM implementations

Strong understanding of HR processes, operating models, and industry best practices across the employee lifecycle

Workday certification and proven hands‑on experience in the design, configuration, and implementation of Workday Core HCM solutions

Strong knowledge of Workday security architecture, role‑based security design, business process security policies, and reporting capabilities

Solid understanding of HR data conversion, migration, validation, and reconciliation methodologies

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with HR leaders, business stakeholders, IT teams, and external implementation partners

Current Workday Core HCM certification (mandatory)

Experience with Workday integrations, including EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, Payroll integrations

Certifications & Technical Expertise Required:
