Job summary

AXA Hong Kong and Macau is seeking a highly skilled IT Architect to oversee multiple projects and drive the enterprise solution architecture. You will structure the big picture, align projects with AXA strategies, and lead solutioning activities for technical and infrastructure outcomes.

The role requires a strong background in enterprise architecture, TOGAF, cloud-first design, and experience in finance/insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with 3+ years in a solution architecture role, including a year in a leadership position.
• Experience in finance/insurance industry is preferred.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and TOGAF.
• Cloud-first solution architecture and move to cloud.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple projects/systems/organizations, focusing on the broader landscape and aligning within AXA Hong Kong.
• Define the overall target and structure the big picture at the Architecture Strategy level (Business/Information/Infrastructure).
• Lead solutioning activities to guide development and management of technical and infrastructure solutions.
• Present solution options with ballpark estimates to ensure alignment with business needs and strategy.
• Assess options from technical and business architecture perspectives to ensure strategic fit.
• Identify risks and mitigations for proposed solutions.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop the overall solution architecture and obtain sign-off.
• Research market trends, conduct POC testing, and report results to stay competitive.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role within our IT department. The role will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects / systems / organizations, focusing on the broader landscape, structuring the big picture, defining the overall target, and aligning projects within the AXA Hong Kong landscape. This role will involve working at the Architecture Strategy level, which covers Business Architecture, Information System Architecture, and Infrastructure Architecture.

Additionally, the role will work closely with business teams and other stakeholders, drive the implementation of the defined strategy by structuring project assets, guiding the solutions structure, and creating / defining the Solution Architecture for the project when existing standards or guidelines are not sufficient. Function requirement, non-functional requirement, transitional evolution of the solution and compliance with various AXA Policies must be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Working with Enterprise Architect peers to analyze business strategy and trends and consider other Enterprise Architect viewpoints (such as business, information and solution). Remedy deficiencies in the current-state technologies to derive the future-state.
• Leading and supporting solutioning activities that guide the development and management of technical and infrastructure solutions.
• Define and present the solution options for new projects. Prepare recommendations with ballpark estimates to business users ensuring the options are aligned with business needs and strategy.
• Identify and assess various solution options from both technical architecture and business architecture perspectives to ensure recommendations are aligned with the business needs and strategy.
• Identify technology and delivery risks associated with proposed solutions to ensure that necessary measures are taken to mitigate these risks.
• Work closely with project team and key stakeholders to develop the overall solution architecture and ensure all requirements from key stakeholders are captured.
• Organizing / aligning various technical disciplines and obtain necessary sign-off.
• Research market trends and identify upcoming solutions, conduct POC testing and report POC results to ensure solutions remain competitive against the market trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related fields.
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience with 3+ years in solution architecture role, in which 1 year in a leadership role.
• Over 3+ years' experience in finance / insurance industry is preferred.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF).
• Has sound knowledge in multiple domain and line of business (Life/Health/General Insurance/Insurance Operations).
• Experienced in core system modernization, particularly for Life insurance business.
• Experienced in deigning solution which leverage Azure Cloud platforms and Containerization Platform (OpenShift preferred).
• Experience in cloud first solution architecture and move to cloud.
• Proven experience in steering enterprise-wide IT systems and applications implementation.
• Experience in vendor management.
• Understanding of finance and resource estimation.
• Relevant certifications in cloud technology, enterprise architecture, cyber security or related areas would be an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with being organized, structured, and assertive.
• Fluent in English. Cantonese is strongly preferred.
