Job summary

SEB Asia Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a Shipping Planning professional to support transportation optimization and cost reductions. You will collaborate with internal operations and external logistics partners, including suppliers and 3PL, to drive loading plans and shipping instructions.

The role requires a Diploma or higher in Supply Chain/Logistics, at least 3 years in Shipping & Logistics, and proficiency with SAP/Oracle and Transportation Management systems, MS Word and Excel.

Qualifications

Diploma or above in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or relevant disciplines.
Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in Supply Chain, Shipping & Logistics Operations or transportation field.
Solid experience in SAP/Oracle & Transportation Management System, with proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Adaptable to change with good problem-solving skills.
Outstanding attention to detail and precision.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
Good command of written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Responsibilities

Analyze bulk plans results (container loading plan) regularly to optimize plans according to market priorities and company objectives.
Maintain accuracy of logistics data in system to ensure loading plans are correct.
Validate the final loading plan and communicate shipping instructions to suppliers and 3PL.
Decide between direct shipment and CFS with best cost option globally in mind.
Negotiate and control accuracy of any extra-trucking fees.
Identify potential improvements considering filing rate, cost, container mix and bulk plan parameters; perform root-cause analysis to build action plans.

Job description

As part of Shipping Planning team, you’ll support transportation optimization and cost reductions through proactive, continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll also manage changes by collaborating with internal operations and external logistics partners, including suppliers and freight forwarders.

What’s in it for you:

Analyze the result of the bulk plans (container loading plan) regularly to optimize the plans in view of market priorities and company objectives.
Maintain accuracy of logistics data in system to ensure accurate loading plans.
Validate the final loading plan. Be the key contact to communicate and drive the shipping instructions to suppliers and 3PL.
With best cost option globally in mind, decide the option between direct shipment and CFS.
Negotiate and control the accuracy of the extra-trucking fees if any.
Identify potential improvements considering filing rate, cost, containers mix, bulk plan parameters. Identify top offenders and root cause analysis to build action plans.
