Job summary

The University of Hong Kong is seeking a Technical Manager I/II to oversee maintenance and operation of electrical, mechanical and building services in academic and residential facilities. You will lead maintenance teams, drive preventive maintenance, and manage budgets for upgrade projects.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive facilities management experience in higher education or similar settings, and a commitment to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of facilities management experience, with 6–8 years in supervisory roles in higher education, hospitals, or NGOs.
• Valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and CAFM systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise maintenance teams to ensure timely, efficient service delivery.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance and asset management strategies.
• Prepare budgets and cost estimates for maintenance and system upgrades.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors to uphold safety, quality and compliance standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify hazards and implement prompt corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards.
