Job summary

Anlaseo Technology Ltd in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Optical Engineer to design, simulate and validate optical systems, bridging R&D and industrialization.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build prototypes, select components, perform alignment and drive products from design to mass production with flexible remote or hybrid work arrangements. Fluent in English and Chinese; 5+ years in optical engineering; production experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or above in optical engineering, optoelectronics, or optical communications.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in optical engineering, with production experience preferred.
• Experience bringing optical products from design to production.
• Proficiency in optical design/simulation tools (Zemax, FRED, Code V).
• Familiarity with fiber optics, free-space optics, lasers or optoelectronic components.
• Good command of English and Chinese; strong documentation skills.

Job description

Design, simulate and validate optical systems, driving optical products from design to mass production — the core role bridging optical R&D and industrialization.

Key responsibilities

Design, simulate and validate optical systems and sub-systems

Conduct optical component selection, vendor sourcing and qualification planning

Collaborate with product engineers to build and test optical prototypes, performing alignment, characterization and performance optimization

Work with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electronics, software) to integrate optical modules into final products

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specs, test reports and user manuals

Troubleshoot optical system issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions

Stay updated with the latest optical technologies and contribute to the R&D innovation roadmap

Support the setup and maintenance of optical laboratory equipment

About you

Master's degree or above in optical engineering, optoelectronics, optical communications or related fields

Minimum 5 years of experience in optical engineering; experience bringing optical products from design to production is highly desirable

Proficiency in optical design and simulation tools such as Zemax, FRED, Code V or equivalent

Familiarity with fiber optics, free-space optics, lasers or optoelectronic components

Basic knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for opto-mechanical design is an advantage

Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin), with strong team communication and documentation skills

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
