Job summary

Optec Technology Limited in Shenzhen is seeking Optical Fiber Cable Manufacturing Engineers to drive development to mass production of fiber optic cables and connectors. You will design structures, specify materials, improve processes, and lead root cause analyses while collaborating with multiple teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design the structure, specifications, and materials for indoor fiber optic cables and patch cords based on customer requirements.
• Design and improve the manufacturing process of fiber optic cables and patch cords (fiber cutting, threading, curing, grinding, assembly, testing).
• Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Analyze and resolve material, equipment, or process technology problems in production.
• Lead root cause analyses and yield/efficiency improvement projects.
• Develop product testing plans and perform optical and mechanical verification.
• Ensure product compliance with customer specifications.
• Collaborate with sales, QA, purchasing, and production teams for pilot and mass production of new products.

Optical Fiber Cable Manufacturing Engineers (Shenzhen)

Responsible for key engineering tasks from development to mass production of fiber optic cables and fiber optic connectors.

Key responsibilities

Design the structure, specifications, and materials (including fiber, reinforcing components, and outer sheath) for indoor fiber optic cables and patch cords based on customer requirements

Design and improve the manufacturing process of fiber optic cables and patch cords (e.g., fiber cutting, threading, curing, grinding, assembly, and testing)

Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions

Analyze and resolve material, equipment, or process technology problems encountered in production

Conduct root cause analysis and lead yield and efficiency improvement projects

Develop product testing plans and conduct optical and mechanical performance verification

Ensure product compliance with customer specifications

Collaborate with sales, quality assurance, purchasing, and production teams to conduct pilot production and mass production implementation of new products

About you

College degree or above in Communications Engineering, Optoelectronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Engineering or a related field

At least 3 years of experience in fiber optic cable or fiber optic connector manufacturing, process, or product engineering

Familiar with fiber optic principles, cable threading structures, fiber optic splicing and termination technologies, and related testing methods

Able to read and draw technical drawings

Familiar with AutoCAD and other drafting software

Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills

Able to work independently and possess teamwork spirit

Experience in developing high-density fiber optic patch cords (such as Shuffle) or MPO/MTP products (preferred)

Familiarity with lean manufacturing, six-standard deviation, or SPC quality management tools (preferred)

Basic English reading and writing skills (preferred)
