Role Overview
The role is responsible for driving consistent, high-quality operational performance across AISL Harrow schools, combining group-level governance with hands-on, on-the-ground execution. Working closely with school and Group leadership, the role will strengthen operational standards, optimize cost and revenue performance, support new school and facility openings, and continuously enhance the parent and student experience across our multi-site network.
Key Responsibilities
1. School Operations Supervision & On-Ground Governance
- Supervise and mentor Regional Operations Leads and school-level operational managers across designated campus clusters (GBA, Greater China, Asia)
- Establish strong supervision protocols over school operations, ensuring daily campus execution aligns strictly with AISL Harrow operating standards, local regulations, and brand expectations.
- Alongside AD of Operations Excellence to conduct regular on-site operational reviews and quality checks, partnering directly with School Head of Operations to identify operational bottlenecks and drive immediate remediation.
2. P&L Management & Commercial Optimization
- Take ownership of operational cost drivers across school campuses, partnering with Centralized Procurement and Operations Excellence to drive vendor savings, commercial partnership deals, and economies of scale.
- Identify and drive local revenue enhancement opportunities across campuses, including auxiliary service monetization, facility utilization, summer programs, and commercial venue usage.
- Support Director, Group Operations Monitor financial operational metrics across all schools, delivering transparent financial reporting and performance variance analysis to Group Leadership.
3. Pre-Opening, Facility Buildout & Expansion Leadership
- Support Director, Group Operations to lead the operational pre-opening framework for new school launches, campus extensions, and digitalised operations workflows.
- Support school Head of Operations to oversee new school/facility readiness playbooks, ensuring catering, transportation, safety, and facilities management infrastructure are fully operational prior to school opening dates.
- Work with Construction/ project teams and school Head of Operations to ensure human-centric, customer-focused facility design principles are embedded into new construction and renovation projects.
4. Operations Excellence & Customer Experience
- Standardize core AISL operating procedures and enforce the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) across all school campuses.
- Maintain an uncompromised customer-centric focus, using parent and student feedback to continuously refine campus dining, safety, facility cleanliness, and daily operational touchpoints.
- Implement digital capabilities, operational transparency dashboards, and automation solutions (such as robotics) to drive operational efficiency and smart campus modernization.
5. Matrixed Stakeholder & Change Management
- Act as the strategic operational bridge between Group Leadership, functional pillars (Centralized Procurement, Food QA & Health/Safety), and School Operations Leadership.
- Facilitate operational change management, ensuring smooth adoption of central initiatives and group-wide technology deployments across all school sites.
Requirements
- MNC Background: Minimum 10–12+ years of progressive operations leadership experience within a global multinational corporation (premium education, luxury hospitality, multi-unit retail, or commercial services).
- Dual Market Experience: Demonstrated experience managing both Group-level strategic framework development and hands‑on, in‑market operational execution across multi‑site environments.
- P&L Management: Mandatory experience managing multi‑site operational P&Ls, including budget allocation, cost control, vendor cost optimization, and revenue generation.
- Pre-Opening & Facility Buildout: Proven track record leading pre-opening readiness, new facility launches, or retail store builds from blueprint planning through to operational launch.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Deep commitment to delivering premium, customer‑first service experiences (parents, students, campus guests) while maintaining rigorous operational safety and quality standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional capability to influence and collaborate across matrixed stakeholders, including corporate executives, School Headmasters, local operational teams, and external commercial partners.
