Job summary

SGS Hong Kong Limited is seeking an experienced laboratory professional to conduct a wide range of tests independently, review data and ensure compliance with quality requirements. You will validate laboratory-developed and non-standard test methods, calibrate equipment, analyse measurement uncertainty and maintain accurate testing records.

Supervisory experience is advantageous as you may coach junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science/engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in physical testing, in an accredited lab preferred.
• Hands-on testing, data analysis and problem solving.
• Supervisory or coaching experience is an advantage.
• Experience with equipment calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with lab quality systems and accreditation requirements.
• Knowledge of measurement uncertainty and method validation is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
• Knowledge of lab safety practices and safe handling of equipment/materials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests independently.
• Review, analyse and verify testing data for accuracy and compliance.
• Validate and verify lab-developed and non-standard methods per approved protocols.
• Calibrate equipment and perform performance checks.
• Analyse calibration data and support measurement uncertainty estimation.
• Investigate testing issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate testing, calibration and validation records.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance lab efficiency and capabilities.
