Job summary

SGS Hong Kong Limited is seeking a senior laboratory leader to plan, supervise, and develop the team to ensure testing activities comply with SOPs, HOKLAS and ISO/IEC 17025. You will oversee workload, provide training, review data for accuracy, and support method development and continuous improvement.

The role involves handling customer inquiries on testing capabilities, maintaining the quality management system, and upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or related field.
• Strong leadership and team-management experience (7+ years).
• Knowledge of laboratory operations, quality systems and accreditation requirements.
• Fluency in English and Chinese including Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise laboratory personnel to ensure testing activities meet SOPs, HOKLAS and ISO/IEC 17025.
• Plan, prioritize and allocate workload to optimize resources and meet turnaround times.
• Provide training, coaching and technical guidance to staff for competency development.
• Review data, investigate issues and ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Support method development, validation, verification and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical support on customer enquiries regarding testing requirements and capabilities.
• Maintain the laboratory quality management system and regulatory compliance.
• Promote a safety culture and ensure adherence to HSE standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
