SGS Hong Kong Limited is seeking an experienced laboratory professional to conduct a wide range of tests independently, review data and ensure compliance with quality requirements. You will validate laboratory-developed and non-standard test methods, calibrate equipment, analyse measurement uncertainty and maintain accurate testing records.
Supervisory experience is advantageous as you may coach junior staff.
Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests independently, including proficiency testing and correlation studies.
Review, analyse and verify testing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality requirements.
Perform validation and verification of laboratory-developed and non-standard test methods in accordance with approved protocols and interpret validation results.
Carry out equipment calibration and performance checks according to relevant test methods, standards and accreditation requirements.
Analyse calibration data and support the estimation of measurement uncertainty.
Investigate testing issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions when required.
Maintain accurate testing, calibration and validation records in compliance with laboratory quality systems.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and technical capabilities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or above in Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in physical testing, preferably in an accredited laboratory environment.
Hands-on experience in laboratory testing, data analysis and technical problem-solving.
Previous team supervision or staff coaching experience is an advantage.
Experience in equipment calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting is preferred.
Familiar with laboratory quality systems, testing standards and accreditation requirements.
Knowledge of measurement uncertainty and method validation would be an advantage.
Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and safe handling of testing equipment and materials is preferred.
