Job summary

EMQ is a fintech leader enabling real-time cross-border payments across 200+ markets. We seek a Senior Manager, Business Development, based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, or Taipei, to drive revenue growth by expanding existing customers and acquiring new partners across Asia.

You will lead end-to-end sales, negotiate deals, and collaborate with product, compliance, finance, and technology teams to scale EMQ's payments platform while ensuring regulatory alignment and strong customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of business development experience with proven sales results in payments/fintech/banking go-to-market.
• Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset with strong business acumen.
• Results-oriented with excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills.
• Deep knowledge of cross-border payments and ability to articulate complex flows to customers/partners.
• Strong initiative; capable of working independently and as part of a global team.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Hands-on, self-motivated and disciplined; takes ownership of the job.
• Strong awareness of compliance risks and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin; additional languages are a plus.
• Travel will be required.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and execution of client deals and business activities across Asia and strategic markets.
• Identify and generate qualified opportunities, acquire new partnerships, and explore cross-sell opportunities with internal teams.
• Manage end-to-end sales cycle including lead generation, negotiation, and engagement with stakeholders to close deals.
• Maintain awareness of market developments, competitors, and contract status to identify opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure adherence to compliance and governance policies.
• Represent the voice of customers and partners to internal stakeholders for a seamless customer journey.
