Job summary

Vocational Training Council (VTC) Estates and Campus Development Office is seeking an experienced architect to support capital works and AA&I projects in Hong Kong. You will plan, inspect, and coordinate project briefs, accommodation schedules and tender documents for architectural services, while managing external consultants and keeping construction on schedule.

The ideal candidate has a recognised higher diploma in Architectural Studies (or equivalent), ideally with a degree and professional

Qualifications

• A recognised higher diploma in Architectural Studies, preferably with a degree and/or membership of a relevant professional institution.
• At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Preferably at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity on the client side or representing the client (government/public/tertiary institutions/consultants).
• Good administrative, interpersonal, communication and team-building skills.
• Sound management capability and ability to work independently.
• Good command of English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and inspect new capital works and AA&I projects.
• Prepare project briefs, schedule of accommodation and accommodation requirements.
• Prepare tender documents such as contract drawings, contract agreements and construction programmes for architectural and related services.
• Manage external consultants and contractors.
• Prepare presentation materials and drawings.
• Monitor project expenditure and progress to ensure timely completion.
• Identify and implement latest trends and best practices in the construction industry.

Education

Higher diploma in Architectural Studies

Degree in Architecture or related field

Membership of a relevant professional institution
