Job summary

EDPS Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst Programmer to support a government department''s application development and enterprise AI initiatives. You will develop and enhance applications, support AI platforms, and assist with technical reviews and project delivery.

The role requires hands-on programming in Java and/or Python, along with experience in end-to-end development within a government IT environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years IT experience with at least 3 years as Analyst Programmer or similar.
• At least 3 years in government IT environments.
• At least 2 years of end-to-end application development (coding, testing, deployment, post-launch support).
• Strong programming in Java and/or Python.
• Experience with backend APIs and HTTP protocols (REST).
• At least 2 years in IT application development/management.
• At least 1 year in HTML5; SSADM experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing, operating and maintaining enterprise AI platforms.
• Support reviews of new projects, AI adoption proposals and technical evaluations.
• Prepare technical specs, briefs and project documentation for AI infra and software tools.
• Ensure designs align with government IT frameworks and policies.
• Perform system administration and maintenance for AI workloads.
• Develop, test and enhance application programs and foundation services with QA in mind.
• Monitor project progress and track contractor deliverables.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal teams and end users.
• Maintain and update the department's Enterprise Architecture framework.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst Programmer / Analyst Programmer to support a government department's application development and enterprise AI initiatives. The successful candidate will develop and enhance applications, support shared AI platforms, and assist with technical reviews and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing, operating and maintaining enterprise Common AI Resources Management and Common AI Services Provision platforms.
• Support technical reviews of new project initiatives, system enhancements and AI adoption proposals.
• Prepare technical specifications, work assignment briefs and project documentation for AI infrastructure, software solutions and tools.
• Conduct preliminary checks to ensure system designs and architectural solutions align with relevant government IT frameworks, standards, policies and guidelines.
• Perform system administration, maintenance, troubleshooting and support for AI modelling and analytics workloads.
• Develop, test and enhance application programs and common foundation services, ensuring code quality and appropriate quality assurance.
• Assist in monitoring project progress and tracking contractor and subcontractor deliverables.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to internal teams and end users.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the departmental Enterprise Architecture framework.

About you

• At least 7 years of post-qualification IT experience, including at least 3 years in an Analyst Programmer or related capacity.
• At least 3 years of experience working with or within government IT environments.
• At least 2 years of solid, hands‑on experience in end‑to‑end application development, covering coding, testing, deployment, and post‑launch support and maintenance.
• Strong proficiency and extensive hands‑on programming experience in Java and/or Python.
• Experience developing, integrating or supporting backend APIs, with a solid understanding of RESTful APIs and HTTP protocols.
• At least 2 years of experience in IT application development and management.
• At least 1 year of experience in HTML5.
• At least 1 year of experience in Structured Systems Analysis and Design Method (SSADM).
• At least 2 years of experience in system implementation and maintenance/support.
