Job summary

EDPS Systems Limited in Hong Kong seeks a Solution Architect / Senior System Analyst to support government enterprise AI initiatives on a contract basis. You will provide architectural guidance, oversee AI platforms, and ensure secure, reliable AI-enabled applications.

You will lead design reviews, feasibility studies, and implementation across AI workflows, including LLMs, RAG, and inference engines, with Java and Python proficiency.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of IT experience with 5+ years in system analysis or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of end-to-end IT application experience (analysis to deployment).
• At least 3 years in government IT environments.
• At least 1 year implementing AI applications involving LLMs, Generative AI, RAG and inference engines.
• Strong Java and/or Python programming skills.

Responsibilities

Solution Architect / Senior System Analyst - AI & Government Projects (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect / Senior System Analyst to support a government department's enterprise AI initiatives. The successful candidate will provide architectural guidance, implement and maintain shared AI platforms, and support the delivery of secure, reliable AI-enabled applications.

Key responsibilities

Act as a technical advisor, providing architectural reviews, actionable recommendations and technical guidance to internal project teams, particularly on AI adoption.

Lead the implementation, ongoing operational support and maintenance of enterprise Common AI Resources Management and Common AI Services Provision platforms.

Conduct end-to-end feasibility studies, impact analyses and physical system design for complex applications, including AI-driven modules and advanced LLM workflows.

Perform system design, configuration and performance tuning to support AI modelling, inference and analytics workloads.

Gather user requirements, prepare screen prototypes, conduct system analysis and develop detailed technical specifications.

Ensure system designs and architectural solutions comply with relevant government IT frameworks, standards and security policies.

Assist with project management, oversee contractors and monitor the progress of IT and AI infrastructure deployments.

Evaluate and recommend specialised hardware, software and infrastructure tools, and support related procurement activities.

Prepare and deliver technical demonstrations and architectural presentations to stakeholders and internal teams.

About you

At least 10 years of post-qualification IT experience, including at least 5 years in a System Analyst or equivalent capacity.

At least 4 years of end-to-end IT application experience, covering analysis, architectural design, deployment, and post-launch support and maintenance.

At least 3 years of experience working with or within government IT environments.

At least 1 year of practical experience implementing AI applications involving Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and inference engines.

Strong proficiency and extensive hands-on programming experience in Java and/or Python.

At least 4 years of experience in IT application development and management.

At least 1 year of experience in HTML5.

At least 2 years of experience in Structured Systems Analysis and Design Method (SSADM).

At least 2 years of experience in system implementation, maintenance and support.
