Job summary

InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a senior IT contractor to support the CBDAS implementation for C&ED. The role requires 6+ years IT experience with 5+ years in a similar post, covering SA&D, API design, data pipelines, OCR-enabled analytics, and data migration.

The candidate will conduct SDLC activities, prepare program specifications, perform system tests, and deploy applications. Travel to C&ED offices may be required; excellent English and Putonghua are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.
• At least 6 years’ post-qualification IT experience, with 5+ years in a similar post.
• Strong experience in SA&D, API design, data pipelines and data maintenance.
• Experience with web crawlers, BI dashboards, and model deployment.
• Proficient in OCR for document text extraction and data analytics.
• Willingness to provide after-hours on-call production support.
• Willingness to travel to other offices for system support.

Responsibilities

• Support CBDAS implementation, conduct SDLC activities, prepare specifications and tests.
• Perform data migration and system deployment tasks.
• Conduct research on CBDAS technologies and evaluate new approaches.
• Prepare documentation and assist with system testing and UAT.

Project Nature (T26) Implementation of Customs Big Data Application System (CBDAS) of C&ED

Duties

• Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the C&ED;
• To support the implementation of CBDAS (i.e. conduct SA&D, prepare program specifications, conduct system test and user acceptance test, prepare documentation, and deploying applications and models);
• To perform data migration with CBDAS;
• To perform technology research for CBDAS; and
• To perform any tasks assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• At least 6 years working experience in information technology with at least 5 years must be in similar post or in comparable capacity;
• Experience in SA&D, API design and development, data pipeline development and data maintenance is required;
• Experience in using web crawler to crawl websites, building interactive charts and dashboards with BI tool, and performing model training and deployment is required;
• Experience in using OCR tool to extract text from documents, performing full-text search and semantic search with High-Speed Searching Tool, and data analytics is required;
• Provides service outside office hours. e.g. 7 x 24 on-call production support;
• Travelling to other C&ED offices and land boundary control points for system support may be required;
• Integrity record check for the candidate is required and the candidate shall be requested to sign a consent during the recruitment interview; and
• Shall comply with all government-wide and C&ED departmental circulars for staff administration and code of conduct.
• Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
• At least 6 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 5 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.

Technical Skills

• At least 6 years' experience in Structured Query Language (SQL);
• At least 5 years' experience in business intelligence/data mining (BDM);
• At least 4 years' experience in Data Warehouse (DWH);
• At least 3 years' experience in IT Application Development and Management (ADM);
• At least 3 years' experience in System Implementation and Maintenance/Support (SIM);
• At least 3 years' experience in Data/File Backup Technology (DFT);
• At least 3 years' experience in Data Modeling (DMO);
• At least 3 years' experience in Data Management (DMT);
• At least 1 year's experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP);

• 3 years' experience in Infrastructure (INF) is an advantage.

Non-technical Skills

• Excellent spoken English is a must;
• Excellent Putonghua is a must;

• At least 6 years' experience in presentation (PRT);
• At least 3 years' experience in software testing (STM);
• At least 2 years' experience in the management and support of Government systems and services (GSS);
