Job summary

SmarTone Telecommunications Limited is recruiting for a Senior Accounts Receivable/Revenue Accountant in Hong Kong. You will lead the AR team, supervise month-end closings related to revenue and receivables, and ensure accurate billing and reconciliations across billing platforms and ERP systems.

You will partner with multiple units to drive compliance, internal controls and process improvements while managing priorities in a dynamic telecommunications and payments environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Qualified HKICPA member or equivalent.
• 5–7 years accounting experience with AR/revenue or billing exposure.
• Telecom, retail or payments industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ERP and billing platforms advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Independent, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience leading or supervising a small team; suitable for accountant role with less experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounts Receivable team and oversee month-end close for revenue and receivables.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading the Accounts Receivable team and overseeing month-end closing activities related to revenue and receivables.
• Monitor daily operations, including payment collections, refunds, billing transactions, and reconciliation with payment gateways.
• Perform reconciliation between billing systems, payment platforms, and the accounting system to ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue records.
• Review customer account balances, aging reports, and collection status, and investigate discrepancies when required.
• Responsible for revenue assurance activities and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Work closely with various business units and stakeholders to provide accounting guidance, ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls, and resolve operational issues.
• Participate in system enhancement projects, user acceptance testing (UAT), and process improvement initiatives.
• Streamline accounting processes and workflows to improve operational efficiency and internal controls.
• Perform ad hoc assignments and other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Qualified member of HKICPA or equivalent professional accounting body.
• Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience, with exposure to Accounts Receivable, revenue accounting, or billing operations.
• Experience in the telecommunications, retail, or payment industry is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and billing platforms is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Good team player with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with experience in leading or supervising a small team.
