Jetline Construction Co., Limited in Wan Chai is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost estimation, budgets, and procurement for multiple projects. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure projects stay on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has a degree in QS or construction management and 2–5 years' experience, with strong knowledge of contracts, cost estimation, and HK regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in QS, construction management or related field.
• Professional qualification such as RICS highly desirable.
• 2–5 years' experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement, and cost estimation methods.
• Proficient with cost management software and MS Office.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and detail-oriented skills.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload.
• Understanding of HK building regulations and practices.
• Fluent in English and Chinese is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender docs.
• Manage project budgets and financial forecasting.
• Analyse and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.

About the role

Jetline Construction Co., Limited is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in Wan Chai, Wan Chai District, where you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, contracts, and procurement activities. The Quantity Surveyor is essential to the success of our construction projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation, budget control, and value for money throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget, making this a strategically important position within our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction projects
• Managing project budgets and financial forecasting throughout all project phases
• Analysing and negotiating contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers
• Conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for project proposals
• Tracking and controlling project expenditure to ensure costs remain within approved budgets
• Preparing variation orders and claims documentation as required
• Liaising with project stakeholders to resolve commercial and contractual matters
• Providing regular financial reporting and cost updates to senior management and clients
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommending value engineering solutions

What we're looking for

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline from a recognised institution
• Professional qualification such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) membership or equivalent is highly desirable
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or a related cost management role (depending on seniority level sought)
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost estimation methodologies
• Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise workload efficiently
• Sound understanding of Hong Kong building regulations and construction industry practices
• Fluency in English and Chinese (both written and spoken) is beneficial
