Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage core cost management functions for construction projects, ensuring cost control and quality objectives. You will deliver effective cost management services and foster a collaborative, high‑performing project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess in‑depth knowledge of pre‑contract and post‑contract cost management services.
- Estimate, analyze rates, and plan costs; develop and present final cost plans to clients.
- Prepare tender lists, preliminary documents, tender analysis, tender report, and compile contractual documents.
- Manage post‑contract cost variances and support change control processes, reporting major changes to the reporting manager.
Governance & Reporting
- Produce monthly post‑contract cost reports and support client presentations.
- Contribute to Value Engineering exercises.
- Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
- Identify improvements to cost management procedures, templates, and products, and suggest to the line manager.
- Maintain key information in the Turner & Townsend internal database.
- Collaborate with the cost management team and take responsibility for Assistant Cost Managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
- Minimum five years’ experience in cost management or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of quantity surveying tools and methodologies.
- Native‑level proficiency in Cantonese and business‑level proficiency in English.
- Proficiency in Cost-X or equivalent cost estimation software.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Chartership in MHKIS preferred.
Key Performance Indicators
- Achieve greater than or equal to 85% satisfaction score from clients and internal stakeholders in post‑project reviews.
- Maintain 100% compliance with internal governance processes and external regulatory standards.
