The Hong Kong Jockey Club

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world‑class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world‑class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.

Job Summary

This role sits within the Social Media Campaign and Strategic Partnership team under Public Affairs. The Public Affairs Officer will focus on driving the Club’s social media exposure to increase brand awareness across multiple Club’s owned social channels. The position requires a hands‑on approach to planning, content creation (filming & editing), and publishing with the goal of building a strong online presence for Racing, Corporate, Charities, and Club-sponsored events. This is an opportunity to sharpen editorial and project management skills while deepening comprehensive digital media knowledge.

The Job
  • Publish content and information on the Club’s owned social platforms accurately and in a timely manner and identify potential reputation risk issues.
  • Coordinate with different marketing / business / communication teams to consolidate social media exposure plans and execute them as planned.
  • Copyedit syndicated content in English and Traditional Chinese and propose original ideas for creative content (filming and editing).
  • Review daily non‑racing and racing news summaries and manage a reposting schedule accordingly.
  • Keep track of data and analytics of social media performance.
  • Assist in implementing social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
  • Assist in developing publicity plans for various Racing, Charities and Corporate projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify content leverage opportunities (e.g. from the Club’s Charities website and Charities’ project social media accounts) to maximise reach and engagement.
About You
  • Tertiary education in communications / public relations / journalism / media studies / business studies of related discipline and relevant qualifications.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of solid experience.
  • Working experience in large corporations is preferred.
  • Excellent filming and editing skills.
  • Sound knowledge in online trend and features, social media optimisation.
  • Good writing skills in both Chinese and English.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Content management and project management skills.
