Job summary

The Hong Kong Jockey Club in Hong Kong is seeking a seasoned Finance Analyst to join the Division Finance team. You will prepare the annual budget, forecasts, and financial planning submissions for DSSO, and conduct monthly analyses of expenses and variances to support cost control.

You will liaise with trainers and staff on reimbursement claims, review stable-related charges, and contribute to process improvements that reduce operating costs, while supporting ad hoc projects and management

Qualifications

  • Degree in business, accounting, logistics or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years in accounting and data analysis.
  • Proficient in English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
  • Experience supporting senior executives or managing administrative tasks is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and BI tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and clear stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and financial planning submissions for DSSO.
  • Prepare financial analyses and manpower reports, and support business cases and scenarios.
  • Conduct monthly analyses of stable charges billed to owners and identify variances.
  • Consolidate and review the Department's income summaries and recommend actions.
  • Liaise with Assistant Trainers and stable staff on reimbursement claims and payments.
  • Review and reconcile livery, fodder, bedding, and other stable-related charges.
  • Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs; undertake ad hoc projects.
  • Oversee purchase requisitions and project codes for Capex items.
  • Prepare and distribute stable operation memoranda as required.
  • Provide admin and operational support to Dual Site Stables Operations at alternate sites.
  • Undertake other duties and projects as directed by supervision.

The Division

The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong's world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain - from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement. With Conghua Racecourse and Greater Bay Area expansion, we're shaping racing into a dynamic sporting, social, and entertainment experience.



The Job


  • Prepare the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and financial planning submissions for DSSO.

  • Prepare financial analyses and manpower reports, and support the development of business cases, scenario analyses, and management recommendations.

  • Conduct monthly analyses of stable charges billed to owners and identify variances, trends, and areas requiring attention.

  • Consolidate and review the Department's monthly income summary, identify significant variances or issues, and recommend appropriate corrective actions and solutions.

  • Liaise with Assistant Trainers and stable staff on reimbursement claims, verify supporting documentation, and ensure accurate and timely payment processing.

  • Review and reconcile livery, fodder, bedding, and other stable-related consumption charges to ensure billing accuracy and completeness.

  • Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce horse ownership costs, and undertake ad hoc projects as assigned.

  • Oversee the processing of purchase requisitions and the administration of project codes for capital expenditure (Capex) items.

  • Prepare and distribute stable operation memoranda in accordance with operational and business requirements.

  • Provide administrative and operational support to Dual Site Stables Operations, including performing duties at alternative work locations as required.

  • Undertake other ad hoc duties, assignments, and projects as directed by the supervisor or his/her delegates.



About You


  • A degree in a relevant field such as business administration, accounting, logistic, or a related discipline

  • At least 6 years of experience in accounting and data analysis

  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin

  • Experience in supporting senior executives or managing administrative tasks is preferred

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and any other BI tools

  • Good analytical skills in determining the underlying causes of problems

  • Good presentation skills for the conclusion of result and effective communication with all stakeholders
