The Division

The Sports Business Division is central to the Club's overall aspiration to become a globally recognised sports and entertainment brand, with world‑class horse racing at its core. The Division's overarching focus is to deliver sustainable growth of the Club's sports business, deepen customer engagement, and contribute to position the Club as a leading global sports and entertainment brand to enable its commitment to social betterment. Its strategy is delivered through three pillars: broadening the fan base and prospecting new customers, growing the sports wagering business, and building the Club's brand and commercialising its assets.

Job Summary

The mission of Racing Sports Marketing (RSM) is to cultivate a new generation of horse racing fans to support long‑term business growth. The Racing Sports Marketing team develops strategically driven, engaging racing content and manages key communication platforms, including HKJC Racing Sports social media channels, to connect with younger audiences, nurture new fans, and deepen engagement among existing racing enthusiasts.

Reporting to the Deputy Executive Manager, the Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation of marketing plans aimed at promoting horse racing and hero horses to a new generation of local, mainland Chinese, and international fans. Additionally, they will be responsible for promoting betting products and services within the gaming sector. The candidate will also have partial oversight of the Club's racing sports social media channels, working closely with the Content team, cross‑functional departments, and agency partners to develop communication plans that align with strategic objectives, as well as producing exceptional content and events.

To succeed in this role, the candidate should be a proactive and detail‑oriented team player with project management capabilities. A good understanding of social media and audience engagement is essential, and the ability to translate insights into effective content and execution. While in‑depth knowledge of horse racing is essential.

The Job
  • Promote racing as a professional sport to a new generation
  • As a project owner of promoting hero horses, group races and wagering products
  • Drive marketing programs independently, including composing idea proposals, drafting agency briefs, and controlling the timeline and budget of each project, in order to develop content and story angles across our social media platforms
  • Manage and create content for horse racing key events, horses and wagering products
  • Manage creative agency, social media agency, media agency and other vendors efficiently for marketing materials creation and execution, including marketing and communication materials, marketing collaterals and social media posts
  • Ensure all content complies with the Club's guidelines, including RGP, and confirm that it is reviewed and approved by all relevant parties before launch.
    Support the ad hoc projects assigned
  • Perform race day duties on a rotational basis, ensuring timely social media content roll‑out and on site support where required
About You
  • A university degree in Communications, Marketing, or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in general marketing, preferably with experience in digital marketing, social media and content marketing
  • Experience in managing Social media
  • Ability to work independently and as a team with high personal effectiveness
  • A creative mind‑set and a good understanding of young generation cultures
  • A good knowledge of horse racing
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills
  • Proficiency in English & Chinese
  • Knowledge of creative and commercials/ print production
  • Knowledge of advertising discipline, especially in media and social media
